Our daughter caught a viral infection just before our trip. We made it to the Tokyo Station in Japan but had to cancel the rest of the sightseeing trip in Tokyo and headed back to the Narita airport because her body temperature reached 103 oF and it was hot everywhere. She was fine on the second day after we arrived in Beijing.

Evidently, we picked the worst two weeks, weather wise, to visit Beijing. It was hot and humid (90% and above humidity for the first week, it was even 100% for a day. Beijing's summer was not like this in our memory). The visibility was poor for most the time. Heavy rain and strong wind were needed to bring out the blue sky that we are so accustomed to in the states. Next time, we will choose a better time of the year to make the trip again. Hopefully, I will also have better photographs to share then.
